Vote On Amendment 1
January 13th, 2008 4:34 PM

It's time to vote on the only option we currently have for property tax relief, Amendment 1 (hereafter referred to as A1). This is an extremely important vote, and voter turnout needs to be as high as possible.  I personally am voting for A1, it may not be perfect, and it may not seem like much relief, but it is some relief. We will have other tax relief options to vote on in November. I'll touch on that in a future post.

This is the first time in the history of Florida that an amendment needs 60 percent approval to pass. Voters in 2006 approved the higher amount of votes needed. According to the Palm Beach Post, critics of A1 are hoping this will keep the amendment from passing. With early voting being utilized much more now, it's easy to make it to the polls. Check with your supervisor of elections for times and locations of where you can take advantage of early voting. Early voting starts Monday, January 14.

Please use the links below to familiarize yourself with the issues. Read the ballot before you go to the polls, and get an understanding of the ballot language. All links open in a new window. And please, vote YES on Amendment 1.

Price Reductions!
January 10th, 2008 12:05 PM

Just a quick update on a few of my listings that have reduced their prices recently. Click on the highlighted street names to view the listings.

A listing I have in of the nicest golf course communities in Palm City, Hammock Creek, has reduced their price to BELOW $500,000. My listing on  Glenmoor Way in Hammock Creek is now offered at $489,900, that is a great price on a spectacular pool home with fairway views.

I have a great pool home on a large lot in Port St. Lucie, it's located on a very quit cul-de-sac on Nantucket Ave. that just reduced to $239,900. This home is one minute to Sam's, Super Wal-Mart,  and I-95.

How about ocean access? Two of my ocean access listings have just lowered their price, one in Stuart, and the other in Port St. Lucie. The Stuart home located in quiet and unique Rustic Acres has a dock ten feet from the back door. This home on Rustic Circle just lowered to $479,900! I never thought ocean access in Martin County would come down to that price level. The other ocean access home in Port St. Lucie, is located in gated Osprey Ridge. This home is on a huge lot, with a custom bar and 13,000lb. boat lift located behind the pool. They just reduced to $699,000.

These are just a few of our recent reductions, call us today for a list of great deals. You can reach us at 800-876-3535, or on Brad's cell phone at 772-370-1569.

Snow In Florida!
January 3rd, 2008 12:10 PM

Well, it just snowed here at the office. A mix of light rain, with tiny snowflakes mixed in. I remember when it snowed an inch in 1977, that was an amazing site. This experience was neat, but pales in comparison to the 1977 event.

Since this is Florida, we are expecting temps to be in the 70's tomorrow. All of you up north who are snowed in right now, you should consider moving down here, it's great, and the prices are right. I'll be heading to the beach this weekend, but I'll have my cell phone on me if you need anything.
